Gamai (M) Sdn Bhd was established in 2019. The founder, Puan Fatimah Salleh, found that latok (seagrapes) brings huge benefits to people in so many aspects, especially in terms of job opportunities, health, and beauty. Once our company began to expand its business in Peninsular Malaysia as well as Sabah and Sarawak, our farms grew to produce nearly 100 kilograms of latok every month and it is still unable to cater for the whole market due to insufficient supply. However, we have a variety of products based on seagrapes which are fresh latok, soap cleanser, serum, and latok shrink. The latok shrink is our latest product which is able to last within a year – it has the potential to be successful in the import and export markets. We have also been cooperating with the Department of Fisheries and University Malaya to explore seagrapes in a wider capacity.
Gamai currently has 40 tanks of seagrapes and is still expanding. Each growth and process is monitored closely by a specialist team to produce the best outcomes and end-products. As the first seagrape entrepreneur in Malaysia, we are spreading latok or seagrapes as the new ideal superfood. We are proud to expand our products in other countries and all over the world.
