The Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industries (MAFI) is a Malaysian government ministry that is noted for being a leader in agricultural transformation. The ministry’s primary purpose is to assess, formulate, monitor, and implement Malaysian agricultural development policies, strategies, and initiatives. The ministry’s mission is to lead transformation activities in the agricultural sector in a planned, integrated, and comprehensive way, based on the mobilisation of all organisations’ ideas and energy toward the achievement of the National Agrofood Policy’s goals.
In conjunction to this, the ministry had recently launched the National Agrofood Policy 2.0 on the 25th of October 2021.
With the existence of this policy, it will strive to support the aspirations and directions of the nation agrofood sector to be more sustainable, resilient and high technology. In addition, it aims to spur economic growth, improve the welfare of the public, ensure strong food security and good nutrition of the nation’s food.
